#bemorelikekevin

The Kevin Fuson Memorial Fund was inspired by Kevin’s legacy of generosity and his unwavering commitment to helping fellow responders in times of need. This fund is dedicated to supporting prehospital providers in the Cape Fear region who are experiencing financial hardship. Its purpose is to provide meaningful relief during difficult times and to ensure that those who serve our communities are not left without support when they need it most.
The Kevin Fuson Memorial Fund is sustained through individual donations and special fundraising events and operates separately from the educational scholarships offered through the Cape Fear EMS Foundation. This ensures that hardship assistance remains dedicated specifically to EMS professionals facing unexpected financial challenges.
Kevin Fuson was a remarkable coworker, friend, and cherished member of our prehospital family. We tragically lost him in 2022, and his absence continues to be deeply felt. Kevin was an unassuming leader who inspired those around him through quiet strength and example. He was an understanding ear to anyone who needed guidance or support. He was steady, dependable, and carried himself with extraordinary kindness and patience.
Kevin embodied the true spirit of a first responder. He saved lives as a paramedic while continuing to serve his community as a firefighter, driven by a genuine desire to help others. He was also known for his sense of humor, keeping his partners laughing throughout their shifts and occasionally getting into harmless trouble along the way. His legacy of service, compassion, and camaraderie lives on through this fund.

"Kevin was a friend to everyone. It was my pleasure to work alongside Kevin for close to twelve years. I am grateful to have had Kevin be a part of my career and I consider myself better off because of it. I wish I could share many of my Kevin stories. The best thing I can stress to young leaders finding their own paths to supervisor positions is to "be more like Kevin".
